Abstract
Corticosteroids are an important part of immunosuppressive maintenance therapy after orthotopic liver transplantation,1 2 3 4 5 despite their many side effects. Alternate-day administration is effective and decreases the frequency of side effects in some patients who require long-term corticosteroid therapy.6 Since most liver-transplant recipients receive two other immunosuppressive drugs, cyclosporine and azathioprine, as maintenance therapy, we have treated our adult patients with alternate-day corticosteroids in an effort to reduce the side effects of steroid therapy. Keywords
