Abstract
Central injections of bradykinin evoke a brief, slight to moderate fall in systemic arterial blood pressure and vascular resistance, coincident with an increase in cardiac output and heart rate. At the same time a slight elevation in pulmonary arterial pressure occurred lasting a few sec. followed by an undershoot phase. These vascular pressure changes returned to control levels within a few min. A purified fraction of B. iararaca venom modified the action of synthetic bradykinin resulting in steeper and more prolonged changes in circulatory pressures with a significant increase in response. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
