Abstract
The time‐correlation function in an equilibrium ensemble of the momentum of a heavy particle imbedded in a gas of noninteracting light particles is calculated. The technique used is a density expansion of the correlation function. No statistical hypothesis beyond that of canonical ensemble at the initial time is used. Keywords
