Colpoda cucullus was recovered from protection cysts in hay collected in Cuba in May, 1925. Motile colpodas were recovered in different media in times varying from 18 to 24 hrs. Nematodes of the genera Cephalobus, Aphelenchus, and Rhabditis as well as a small species of amoeba were recovered in active condition.
