Abstract
The phase diagram of NaNO2 in an applied electric field is investigated by means of neutron diffraction. No evidence is found for field-induced commensurate phases. For an applied field of 3.4 kV cm-1 a triple point is observed at which the paraelectric, ferroelectric and modulated phases coexist. Results are discussed in terms of a phenomenological Landau free-energyKeywords
