Abstract
In recent years benzoylperoxide has become increasingly popular in the treament of acne. Beside of a dermal irritative and keratolytic effect this was attributed to the bacteriostatic quality of the substance. By in vitro autoradiography and determination of skin surface lipids in benzoylperoxide=treated skin also a sebostatic effect could be observed. Scanning electron microscopy showed that benzoylperoxide influences the horny layer in a similar way like salicylic acid. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
