Abstract
The phase diagram of the CuGaS2-In pseudobinary system has been investigated. In solutions saturated with stoichiometric CuGaS2 solute at temperatures above 1020°C are single phase, but those saturated below 1020°C are separated into two liquid phases: sulfur-excess primary and sulfur-deficient secondary phases. The solid in equilibrium with the In solution is ascertained to be a single-phase CuGa x In1-x S2 chalcopyrite alloy at temperatures above 70O°C. The mole fraction of CuInS2 in the CuGa x In1-x S2 alloy was determined as a function of liquidus composition of the In solution. Keywords
