Abstract
Measurement of the ratio of deuterons to excited deuterons is prescribed as a method for determining temperatures and breakup criteria in intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions. The sudden coalescence model is contrasted with a thermal breakup picture where ratios are determined by Boltzmann factors.Keywords
