Abstract
Apparatus was constructed which made it possible to measure the adaptation of retinal zones (rather than points) with a Nagel Adaptometer. Normal curves for central, paracentral (8[degree]) and peripheral (45-60[degree]) as well as for larger areas were detd. by plotting threshold brightness against time in dark. Normal curves under conditions of retardation of adaptation in another retinal zone were detd. In amblyopia and Riehl-melanosis the curves were raised (higher threshold) without alteration of shape, probably as a result of high tension. Keywords
