Abstract
Synopsis: The Ythan valley demonstrates the extent of the aureole of the Haddo House norite in the Fyvie schists. In the pelites the replacement of the regional cordierite, one and a half miles from, the norite, by muscovite and quartz implies a potash metasomatism but this cannot be proved from the chemical data. Although outcrop is poor, there is little doubt that temperatures high enough to mobilise the country rocks were operative very near the basic mass. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
