Abstract
Summary: The relative stability of antibody-poliovirus complexes was studied, comparing acute and convalescent phase human sera. At pH 7.5, the rate of reactivation of virus upon dilution of serum-virus mixtures was found to be higher with acute phase sera than with convalescent phase antibody. At pH 4.0, the rate is increased, allowing in 1 hr at 37°C for up to 99% reactivation with acute and up to 23% with convalescent type sera.
