Abstract
A type-B antiresonant reflecting optical waveguide was incorporated into a spot size transformer to achieve precise control of the spot size without precise control of the refractive index. Owing to the optimum design, a low insertion loss of 0.9 dB and a large transformation ratio of 5.6 were successfully obtained. Keywords
