New Records of Mallophaga from Wild Chickens

Abstract

Field collections of Mallophaga were made from 34 specimens of wild chickens, Gallus gallus gallus (L.) from the Philippines and Thailand and G. g. spadiceus (Bonnaterre) from Thailand and Laos. Goniocotes gallinae (DeGeer), Goniodes dissimilis Denny, Lipeurus caponis (L.), Menacanthus pallidulus (Neumann), and Menopon gallinae (L.) were found on both sspp. of the host, and Oxylipeurus dentatus (Sugimoto) was found only on G. g. spadiceus.
