A New Species of Simulium from Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands (Diptera: Simuliidae)

Abstract

Simulium sherwoodi n. sp. and a Simulium sp. near avilae Smart & Clifford are recorded from Guadalcanal. The former species is described from ♀♀, ♂♂, and pupae, and its systematic position within the genus is discussed.
