Abstract
Synopsis: A nutrient culture technique has been devised for the production of vigorous healthy young corn plants under greenhouse conditions. The major innovation is the use of Amberlite IRC‐50 resin to buffer the nutrient media in the pH range 4.2 to 4.8. In this range, ferrous iron can be maintained in the media and phosphate concentrations raised to levels (0.5 mM. or higher) adequate for maximum growth, without inducing chlorosis. Keywords
