Computation of maximum possible precipitation

Abstract
The Hydrometeorological Section of the United States Weather Bureau was organized late in 1937 and invested with the responsibility of applying the latest methods of air‐mass analysis to the problem of determining limiting rates of precipitation. The guiding principle adopted at that time was to improve and refine accepted techniques of the hydrologic engineers rather than attempt radically new developments.
