Abstract
Theoretical investigations of the transient light amplification of stimulated thermal Rayleigh scattering predict a gain proportional to and, most interesting, a gain at ( and are the laser and signal frequency, respectively). Experimental investigations using a light amplifier with high-frequency resolution () confirm our calculations.
