Abstract
Realizations of Sugawara's field theory of currents on functionals are discussed from an algebraic viewpoint. It is shown that the realization can also be obtained from a nonlinear Lagrangian of scalar fields. A solvable model of field theory of currents is also investigated in detail. It is shown that the degenerate vacuum is the ground state of the system in this model.Keywords
