Abstract
A model with a ferroelectric and an antiferromagnetic phase transition is studied for the case that symmetry breaking allows for a coupling between the electric and magnetic dipole systems. Domain walls in such a system are like discommensurations in incommensurate crystal phases. The model shows a magnetoelectric effect, which couples the domain wall motion in the electric and in the magnetic subsystem. Keywords
