Abstract
This study evaluated the IS6220-RFLP patterns of 109Mycobacterium tuberculosisisolates of patients with HIV cared for at a Brazilian university hospital. Thirteen clusters involving 35 (32.1%) individuals were identified. Nosocomial transmission was possible in 5 cases. Strategies to preventM. tuberculosistransmission should be implemented in hospitals in developing countries. Keywords
