Abstract
Karyotypes of different morphological forms of oval cell types of Malassezia furfur (previously called Pityrosporum ovale) were examined by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. All strains produced patterns containing seven chromosome bands. These patterns could be separated into three distinct groups, which appeared to correlate with groups based on morphology. Keywords
