Abstract
A method is described for the simultaneous estimation of estrone and 17 -estradiol in human pregnancy urine. The method is based on sulphuric acid hydrolysis, extraction, purification and separation of the estrone-estradiol fraction through solvent partition. The estrone is reduced to estradiol and after chromatography on columns of aluminium oxide the amount is estimated using a modified Kober reaction. The method works with reasonable reliability down to excretion levels of about 50 [mu] /24 hr. One technician can perform 9 estimations in a working-day.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
