Abstract
Oestriol and 16-epi-oestriol were isolated from urine after intramuscular injection of 16-oxo-17β-oestradiol. When 10 mg of 16-oxo-17β-oestradiol was administered to two normal men, the total excretion in urine amounted to 2.45 mg and 1.25 mg oestriol respectively, and to 0.33 mg and 0.36 mg 16-epi-oestriol respectively. From these results it is concluded that the metabolic reduction of 16-oxo-17β-oestradiol yields more oestriol than 16-epi-oestriol.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
