Abstract
DESPITE a voluminous literature concerning the menopause, there are misconceptions and confusion about the significance and the proper management of this period in woman's life. Discussion continues regarding which of the symptoms associated with the menopause are due to hypoestrogenism and which are due to psychogenic factors, although several excellent reviews have been presented.1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 There is disagreement about the use of hormones in menopausal therapy.
