Abstract
A case of toxic megacolon is described occurring during the course of a fulminant and eventually fatal amebic colitis. Both clinical and roentgenologic findings were felt to represent fulminating ulcerative colitis of the nonspecific type. Despite a successful panproctocolectomy, the patient died of peritonitis resulting from multiple perforations of the dilated colon. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
