ElectronicgFactors of the Low Levels of Ni I

Abstract
Electronic g factors have been obtained for the seven lowest levels in Ni i by means of the atomic-beam magnetic-resonance technique. The results, in order of increasing excitation energy, are F43, 1.24968(3); F33, 1.08285(3); F23, 0.66954(3); D33, 1.33358(3); D23, 1.15106(3); D13, 0.49804(2); and D21, 1.01297(7). A re-analysis of the atomic spectrum involving configuration interaction with intermediate coupling has resulted in an improved set of parameters. The g values so computed are compared with the experimental results.
