Abstract
Electronic factors have been obtained for the seven lowest levels in Ni i by means of the atomic-beam magnetic-resonance technique. The results, in order of increasing excitation energy, are , 1.24968(3); , 1.08285(3); , 0.66954(3); , 1.33358(3); , 1.15106(3); , 0.49804(2); and , 1.01297(7). A re-analysis of the atomic spectrum involving configuration interaction with intermediate coupling has resulted in an improved set of parameters. The values so computed are compared with the experimental results.
