Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A forty-seven-year-old housewife was admitted to the hospital for surgical removal of a pelvic mass.Nodular masses in the uterus had been interpreted by the referring physician eight years earlier as leiomyomas. During the past few years the patient had had menstrual irregularities and occasional intermenstrual discharges. On a more recent examination the uterine mass was noted to be somewhat larger, and an operation was recommended.The patient had had two pregnancies, with one living child. Eleven years before, admission, a right oöphorectomy and partial left oöphorectomy had been performed. Later, recurrent breast cysts . . .
