Abstract
The activation energy of Ar desorption from solid acids is determined by temperature programmed desorption (TPD) using Ar as 9.3, 7.6 and 6.0–6.7 kJ mol−1 for sulfated ZrO2, Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 and zeolites, respectively; the data indicate that Ar TPD is applicable to evaluation of the relative acid strengths of solid superacids. Keywords
