Tongue-Tie

Abstract
There appears to be considerable diversity among physicians, dentists, and speech therapists in the criteria for diagnosis and treatment of ankyloglossia, or tongue-tie. Current opinion regarding definition, incidence, diagnosis, surgical management, speech therapy, and theory of normal and abnormal development of tongue function is presented and discussed. One of the primary purposes of this review is to stress the need for objective measurement in the diagnosis and management of this condition.
