Abstract
A method has been described for the treatment of carcinoma of the cervix using intrauterine radium and a linear vaginal source combined with 4 MeV X-ray therapy. The treatment is simple and flexible, and the initial results obtained are encouraging. With the experience so gained and further modification using radioactive caesium sources it is hoped to reduce the morbidity. Using radium or radioactive caesium the method is suitable for use in underdeveloped countries where the resources and technical help of a full-scale radiotherapy department are not available. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
