Abstract
Sequential treatment of α-lithioalkylphosphonates with tert-butyl fluoroformate or di-tert-butyl dicarbonate and an aromatic aldehyde gives tert-butyl acrylic esters convertible into acrylic acids by protolysis with trifluoroacetic acid.Keywords
