Abstract
High-resolution H I observations of NGC 4214 made with the Cambridge Half-Mile telescope show hydrogen out to 1.4 times the Holmberg radius of the galaxy. Both continuum emission and the brightest H I emission are extended along the optical bar, and the central contours of the velocity-field are rotated from the dynamical minor axis towards the bar. The H I in NGC 4214 is also extended towards its nearby companion NGC 4190, suggesting that the two galaxies have interacted tidally. Keywords
