Abstract
The early lesions of the coronary arteries and aorta in animals given intravenous allylamine are described and are noted to be characterized by glycogen accumulation and by ground substance change indicated by increased PAS-positive material present after incubation with diastase. It is suggested that heterogeneous polysaccharides and/or substances containing 1-2 glycol linkages, other than sulphated acid polysaccharides, may be of importance in the early lesion. Keywords
