The Spark Spectrum of Silver (Ag II)

The spark spectrum of silver can be based on a set of terms as follows: ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}D$, ${}_{}{}^1{}_{}{}^{}D$ from the structure $4d^{9}5s$; ${}_{}{}^{31}{}_{}{}^{}P$, $D^{\prime }$, $F$ from $4d^{9}5p$; ${}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}D$, ${}_{}{}^1{}_{}{}^{}D$ from $4d^{9}6s$; ${}_{}{}^{31}{}_{}{}^{}S$, $P^{\prime }$, $D$, $F^{\prime }$, $G$ from $4d^{9}5d$. The theoretically lowest term ${}_{}{}^1{}_{}{}^{}S_0^{}{}_{}{}^{}\left(4\mathrm{}{d}^{10}\right)$ has not been found, but an estimate of its position is given. There is evidence also for the structure $4d^{9}4f$. All terms have intervals very different from the Landé values. The $g$-values also are evidently very irregular.
