Abstract
Two g. of Telepaque were given to 5 adults with normal gastrointestinal tracts. All the urine and feces were collected over a 3 to 7 day period and analyzed for total I2, and the results compared with previously reported studies of Telepaque in animals and Priodax in man. 86% of the Telepaque was eliminated in 5 days, 12.4% in the urine, and 73.6% in the feces. This was a higher percentage than previously reported from the urine in exptl. animals. The higher fecal and lower urinary excretion of Telepaque is in contrast to the 19% fecal and 74% urinary excretion of Priodax, and may be related to the superiority of the former as a cholecystographic medium. Keywords
