Abstract
The authors have examined the magnetoresistance of a single crystal of gadolinium which had been refined by solid state electrotransport processing. The anisotropy of resistance at 4.2K in a field of 75 kG is consistent with open orbits along (0001) and in the basal plane: this being in agreement with the effect of exchange splitting on the RAPW band structure. Keywords
