Virus Nature of Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis in Trout

Abstract
A filterable, heat-labile, glycerol-tolerant agent was isolated from trout with infectious pancreatic necrosis. Mammalian cell cultures and strains proved refractory, but the agent was cytopathic for trout tissue culture. Eighth and ninth tissue culture passage materials were fed to susceptible trout. The usual clinical symptoms followed, and the disease was confirmed by histological section.
