Abstract
During overlearning of a paired-associates task Ss were (a) given reinforcement by E for correct responses, (b) gave themselves reinforcement when they judged their response correct, or (c) received no reinforcement. Better recall and relearning scores were obtained after no reinforcement than after self-reinforcement or E-reinforcement.Keywords
