Abstract
At the time of the patient''s Cesarean section, after closure of the 1st layer of the uterine incision, 3 Tantalum clips are clipped into the myometrium: 1 at each end of the incision and the 3rd at an intermediate site. The 2nd layer of the uterine incision is then closed, leaving the clips embedded in the myometrium. Six mo. after surgery, hysterography is performed with anteroposterior and lateral views. The clips permit precise localization of the scar and its relationship to hysterographic defects. Knowing the length of the clips, it may be possible to estimate the minimal thickness of the uterine wall in the region of the defect. Also, the distance between the outermost clips indicates scar length.
