Charcoal Agar Culture Medium for Preparing Hemophilus pertussis Vaccine

Abstract
H. pertussis cultures grown on charcoal agar made from the Cohen Wheeler broth yielded quite potent vaccine in 37 of 42 trial lots. Of the 5 substandard lots, 3 were close to standard, 2 were quite inferior. Many subcultures may be made on charcoal agar without degrading the strains.
