Abstract
An isolate of Entomophthora coronata (Constantin) Kervorkian from garden symphylans, Scutigerella immaculata (Newport), collected in western Oregon grew at 30 but not at 35°C. The fungus remained viable for at least 30 days on a non-nutritive substrate. When the fungus was kept on this substrate at various temperatures before the symphylans were introduced, symphylan mortality decreased with increasing time and storage temperature. At temperatures of 10, 15, 20, and 25°C, symphylan mortality in freshly prepared test bottles increased with increasing temperature. At 20 and 25°C, 100% of the symphylans were dead within 2 days.Keywords
