Abstract
Intensity dependent polarisation rotation of the field at the fundamental wavelength in a type-II phase-matched frequency-doubling crystal is used for optical signal amplification. A gain of more than 21 dB was experimentally obtained using KTP for the nonlinear material.Keywords
