Abstract
The therapeutic results with the analog 6-D-Leu-lo-Des-Gly-ethylamide-LH-RH [luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone] (6-D-LH-RH) in 7 male patients with IGD [isolated gonadotropin deficiency] are presented. Treatment with 100 .mu.g of 6-D-LH-RH/day led to normal basal serum LH values in the first 2 wk. During subsequent weeks of treatment, these LH values decreased. A similar effect was seen with stimulated LH levels and their LH stimulation areas. Pretreatment values were reached again after 8 wk despite continuing injections of the analog. As for FSH, the basal and stimulated values decreased already after the 1st week to levels below those seen before treatment. Serum testosterone in untreated patients was between 55 and 290 ng/dl with a free hormone fraction of 0.83-1.5% and did not change consistently under treatment. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
