Abstract
An equation of state for water, applicable in the pressure range 25 kilobars to 250 kilobars, is formulated in terms of experimental data obtained from shock wave measurements. This equation of state is used to calculate P‐V relations for several adiabats and isotherms. Thermodynamic and hydrodynamic data along the Hugoniot curve are given as a function of shock pressure, and pressure‐particle velocity relations for initial shocks followed by reflected shocks and rarefactions are given. Keywords
