Abstract
From data obtained in well-designed trials, we are getting a clearer picture of the role of aortocoronary bypass in the treatment of ischemic heart disease. Among the data available for comparison with medical therapy are survival rate at two years, graft patency, surgical mortality, incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction, and effect on ventricular function and on symptoms and exercise tolerance. Keywords
