Abstract
A study has been made of the photovoltaic effect in Au‐CdS and Cu‐CdS photocells in an attempt to determine the origin of the conducting electrons. Evidence is presented to show that, for evaporated films of gold and copper on copper‐doped CdS, the entire photovoltaic current is due to electronic excitation in the depletion region of the CdS crystals. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
