High Gradient Magnetic Filtration of Magnetic and Non-Magnetic Contaminants from Water

Abstract
Magnetic separation techniques have been used since the nineteenth century to remove tramp iron and to concentrate iron ores.1 A variety of conventional magnetic separation devices are in wide use today. These devices generally separate relatively coarse particles of highly magnetic material containing large amounts of iron from non-magnetic media.
