Abstract
A number of contact images have been prepared by the photodecomposition of thin evaporated films of lead and cadmium iodide. Optical micrographs of these images are reproduced to illustrate the five different types of contrast that can be obtained between perfect and decomposed regions of these materials by using suitable illumination techniques. Keywords
