Abstract
Attention to the problem of groin hernia problems has focused on the primary type of operative repair. Because of this, major advances have been made in the surgical cure of these entities. It is important in the primary operation to individualize the type of operative procedure to the specific hernial problem. The results of treatment of recurrent groin hernia range from very poor to excellent. It appears that the use of prosthetic mesh, particularly if placed in the preperitoneal space, has markedly improved the cure rate for these difficult recurrent groin hernias. Keywords
