Abstract
Serious and occasionally fatal reactions to pentamidine have been reported and with the increased use of the drug in immunocompromised patients they are likely to become more frequent. We report the development of acute pancreatitis and permanent diabetes mellitus in an AIDS patient treated with intravenous pentamidine for Pneumocystis pneumonia. The literature on pentamidine induced pancreatic damage is reviewed. Keywords
